Pickled steel sheet
CLEAN, CONSISTENT FINISH FOR DEMANDING DOWNSTREAM PROCESSES
Pickled sheet steel is a type of rolled steel that has gone through a chemical or mechanical pickling process. This procedure removes the oxide layer and other impurities that form on the surface of the steel during hot rolling, resulting in a sheet with a clean, smooth surface that is ready for further processes such as painting, galvanizing, or cold rolling.

Characteristics, qualities and properties of pickled sheets
Pickled sheets are available in different steel grades, depending on their chemical composition and mechanical properties. These grades conform to international standards, such as EN 10111, and are designed for various industrial applications.
Malleability and ductility
It is easy to work with and shape, making it suitable for processes such as bending or welding.
Corrosion resistance
Although it is not protected like galvanized steel, being free of impurities and oxides, it offers greater durability compared to untreated hot-rolled steel.
Smooth and uniform surface
This facilitates the application of subsequent coatings and improves the aesthetic finish of the final product.
Quality standards
Generally, it complies with standards such as EN 10111, with common grades such as DD11 or S235
Pickled sheet DD11
DD11 pickled sheet is a low-carbon steel sheet, designed for applications that require good malleability and ductility. It is ideal for cold forming processes. Common uses: Automotive components, household appliances, and lightweight metal structures.
Pickled sheet metal S235
This structural steel is stronger and stiffer than DD11. It has a higher yield strength, suitable for supporting moderate loads. Common Uses: Construction of metal structures, pipes, and parts for industrial machinery.
DD13 and DD14 pickled sheet metal (superior qualities)
They offer greater ductility and ease of forming than DD11, making them ideal for more complex parts that require deep molding. Common Uses: Precision components in industries such as automotive and appliances.

We answer some questions about pickled sheets
Frequently Asked Questions
Is pickled sheet metal laser safe?
Yes, pickled sheet metal is suitable for laser cutting, especially for processes that require high precision and quality finishes. Pickling removes the oxide layer and impurities from the surface, which improves the conditions for laser cutting by reducing the amount of slag and spatter during the process.
Can you bend a pickled sheet metal without cracking?
Yes, pickled sheet metal can be folded without cracking, as long as certain conditions related to its thickness, quality, and the parameters of the bending process are respected. Pickled sheet metal is generally more ductile and uniform than other types of sheets, making it easier to bend.
Are pickled sheet metal shipped throughout Spain?
Yes, we ship pickled sheet metal throughout Spain. Recently we have distributed especially in the areas of Valencia, Zaragoza and the entire Basque Country, mainly due to the great boom of the metallurgical industry in these areas of Spain.
