Wear-resistant steel plate

Wear-resistant steel plate (also called anti-tear or abrasion-resistant plate) is a metal material designed to withstand extreme conditions of friction, impact and abrasion, far beyond what a conventional plate can handle. It is generally manufactured from special steel with treatments that give it high hardness and a long service life.
Main features of wear-resistant plate
- High hardness
- Measured on the Brinell scale (HB). The most common grades range from 400 to 600 HB, with 400 HB offering a balance between hardness and ease of machining, and 500-600 HB being more resistant but harder to work with.
- Resistance to abrasion and impact
- Withstands wear from friction (stone, minerals, aggregates, scrap metal, etc.) and repeated impacts.
- Durability
- Multiplies service life compared to conventional plates, reducing maintenance and replacement costs.
- Weldability and machining
- Some grades are weldable and can be cut with plasma, oxy-fuel or laser.
- The higher the hardness, the harder it is to machine.
- Format versatility
- Produced in different thicknesses (from 3 mm up to 100 mm or more) and sheet sizes, allowing it to adapt to multiple industries.
